Heritage Classic 2004
Vancouver, B.C. - August 21, 2004
Photos by Shawn Liudahl (age 11)
We attended the Heritage Classic in Vancouver, put on by the Canadian XK Jaguar Register and Canadian Classic MG Club. It is held at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, on the water overlooking beautiful downtown Vancouver. This is a great event in a great setting. Unfortunately, after a very dry summer the weatherman could not hold off the rain one more day, and we got drenched. This is only the second time in the long history of this event that there has been rain. We had a great time with our friends up North. Will we be back? - you bet! The following photos were taken before the monsoon began.

Older Jaguar Sedans
The older sedans were well represented, with a great 33K mile, original Mk V attracting the majority of the attention. Our tent (in the background of the photo of our car) came in very handy once the rains came!
E-Type Jaguars
A nice selection of very nice E-Types, including a rare "low drag" lightweight coupe, which was my pick of the cars at the show I'd like to drive home!
XK's, XJ's and X's
Unfortunately Shawn was unable to get photos of all the cars before the rain began, but this shows what a great line-up of Jaguar's there were at the show.
MG's
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for MG's, having owned several over the years. These open cars and their owners were happy until the rains came (almost 1" in under 3 hours!) Good to see a nice Oregon turnout of cars.
Bikes
There is always a good turnout of English bikes at the show. When the rains arrived, the bikes scattered, but not before Shawn could snap a few pictures.
Seattle Air Museum
On the drive home, Shawn and I stopped by the Seattle Air Museum at Boeing Field. There is a tremendous collection of vintage aircraft at the museum, and the WWI and WWII collection are outstanding. It was raining here too, but at least we were inside.
