1967 Mk2 3.4 Saloon
Over the course of several months, I have modified the car from original, by making the following changes: (the before pictures are on the left, the after on the right. You can enlarge any image.)
Converted from automatic transmission to Jaguar full-synchro four-speed gearbox with overdrive. This is the proper gearbox as used in MK2 production at the time.
Converted the car from steel to wire wheels, rebuilding the brake system at the same time.
With these changes the car drives even better than before, with a more sporty feel. Its great to have the old girl back on the road again! Now its time to tackle some of my other car projects, such as the Daimler 2.5L V8.
You will notice that I elected not to put the stock air cleaner back on, opting instead to fit a pair of K&N air cleaners. A little more engine noise, but definitely shows off the beautiful cam covers to great advantage.
